POWER- An Introduction
Updated: Jan 18, 2022
Hello, welcome. My name is Charlotte Stradley but that is where my introduction stops because I do not think it is necessary to introduce myself, throughout the progression of this website, you will learn who I am. My intention is to authentically share myself and I WILL NOT holdback on the amazing things I accomplish or the challenging parts of my life. However, my goal for every woman in 2022 is to feel this sense of power. The idea of women finding their power has been a hot topic in the past few years however it has a certain stigma to it. Power is individualized to each person. One woman's sense of power can look like setting a small boundary in an unhealthy relationship, another woman's sense of power can look like requesting a raise she deserves and receiving it. No matter what power looks like to you, this year I challenge you to find it and to use it. One small step at a time.
"NEVER BE SO POLITE YOU FORGET YOUR POWER"
REFLECT.
If this topic speaks to you, go ahead and read on. My advice would be to take 5-10 minutes and journal about this topic so you can grow and reflect. You are 42 percent more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down. These next few topics will be covered more extensively through the duration of this website however I encourage you to grow in yourself through these words.
POWER IN YOURSELF
As the wise Taylor Swift once said, “Never be so polite you forget your power”. This begs the question, is losing your peace worth remaining polite. Stop being so polite that you excuse others’ behavior. Call them out. Stand up for yourself. Choose one aspect of your personality that you do not appreciate enough this week and appreciate it.Write down 5 ways you can be mindful about your attitudes and can keep your power.
POWER IN RELATIONSHIPS
Not every relationship in your life should be devoted to power. However, it is important to realize which relationships have trained your power and your energy. Which people have you let walk over you lately. I promise you that the first person that has come to your mind while reading this is a relationship that needs to be evaluated. Choose one relationship that drains your power and analyze it. How can you set a boundary in that relationship?
POWER IN YOUR BELIEFS
Religion. Politics. Morals. Whatever you are passionate about and believe in you should be loud about. “If you stand for nothing you fall for anything” -Martin Luther King Jr. There is nothing more powerful than a woman who is capable of standing up for what she believes. Find one aspect of your beliefs and educate yourself on it so you can educate others. It’s important to be bold about the things that you are passionate about!
POWER IN YOUR HEALTH
Taking power back to your body does not look like weighing less than the national average. Power in health looks like being active and mindful with your eating habits and being a strong minded individual. Health is physical but most importantly mental. As I continue this blog, you will hear more about this topic but in a short reflection, find a way this week you can be kind to your body.
POWER IN YOUR CAREER
Do you feel like you are entering each work day with enough respect for yourself that you can stand up for your needs? Do you feel like you are energized enough for each work day and taking time to fill your personal needs before your work life? I encourage you this week to stick to a schedule that
WHO LETS YOUR EMBRACE YOUR POWER?
Easy question. Whoever supports you, encourages you, calls you out on areas of your life you need to work on, and loves on you, appreciate them more this week.
